Zelenskyy Summarized the Day's Events at the NATO Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared a group photo with NATO leaders following a busy day of talks at the summit in Ankara. According to him, they managed to hold not only all the scheduled meetings but also several additional ones that were equally important for Ukraine.

The head of state emphasized that the main topics of the talks remain strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, support from partners, and bolstering the country’s diplomatic positions.

After the working day at the NATO summit concluded, Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a group “family photo” with the leaders of the Alliance’s member states on social media and briefly summarized the results of the talks.

The president noted that the agenda was very packed. In addition to the officially scheduled talks, several other meetings took place that were not included in the initial schedule. “The NATO summit in Ankara, and, as our partners say, Ukraine is here by right. Our main task is to secure more air defense systems and strengthen our diplomatic positions,” Zelenskyy wrote.

According to him, all talks focused on security issues and continued support for Ukraine. “All the meetings scheduled for today took place, as well as some important unscheduled ones. Ukraine always works toward an effective and equal partnership and the protection of life,” the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy also thanked partner countries for their support of Ukraine. “Thank you to everyone who is helping!” the head of state noted. Throughout the day, the president held a series of bilateral talks with NATO leaders. Key topics included strengthening Ukraine’s air defense system, military aid, joint weapons production, the development of the defense industry, and new security projects.

Earlier, Zelenskyy had already reported on talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre, and other allies of Ukraine. Following these meetings, the parties discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, funding for defense projects, cooperation in the production of drones, and continued military support.

The NATO summit in Ankara served as yet another platform for Ukraine to hold talks with its partners on strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and coordinating joint actions in the security sector.

Ukraine is working to organize the first meeting of countries set to join the so-called anti-ballistic missile coalition. This involves cooperation among partners in the creation and development of systems to defend against ballistic missiles.
