Zelenskyy said that the world expects Ukraine to win
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is gradually regaining the initiative in the war and pushing the fighting back into the territory where the aggression began. According to him, the world expects one main outcome from Ukraine—victory over Russia.
During a meeting with Ukrainian military officials, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the world is closely monitoring the course of the war and, in fact, expects only one thing from Ukraine—victory in the conflict with Russia. According to the president, Ukrainian forces are gradually changing the course of the war, seizing the initiative from the Russian army and forcing the fighting back onto the aggressor state’s territory.
He emphasized that this process is complex and requires significant effort; however, in Zelenskyy’s view, it is essential for Russia to feel the consequences of the war it started. Separately, the president emphasized that Ukraine, despite having significantly fewer resources, has already achieved tangible results on the battlefield and demonstrated its ability to effectively resist a larger adversary. “With fewer means and fewer resources, Ukrainians have achieved more tangible and proud results, and most importantly—they have every right to be proud of themselves, because they are defending what is theirs; the whole world respects Ukrainians for this,” Zelenskyy noted.
He also added that, in his words, the international community expects Ukraine to achieve the key outcome of the war—the defeat of Russian aggression. “And every pure heart in the world expects only one thing from Ukraine—that we will defeat these Russian scoundrels. And that will happen,” the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that such expectations are not merely political statements but a reflection of the international community’s support for Ukraine, which recognizes its role in deterring aggression. This was reported on the head of state’s official Telegram channel.
Russia has already lost control of the Black Sea, and Ukraine is gradually regaining the initiative. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a trip to the Odesa region, where he held a meeting with the command of the Navy.
