The attack on the Moscow Region caused fires in residential buildings and at a factory
On the night of September 2, Russia’s Moscow Region came under a massive drone attack. According to the region’s governor, Andrei Vorobyov, Russian air defense forces reportedly shot down 56 drones over the region.
He said that the attack was repelled in Naro-Fominsk, Odintsovo, Mozhaisk, Serpukhov, Stupino, Lukhovitsy, Yegoryevsk, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Pavlovsky Posad, Ramenskoye, and Sergiev Posad.
In Kubinka, a drone struck an apartment building on the Naro-Fominsk Highway. The impact caused a fire on the eighth and ninth floors, and a balcony on the seventh floor also caught fire.
Ten people were evacuated from the building. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
Another drone struck an apartment building on 1 May Street in Pavlovsky Posad. No fire broke out, but windows were shattered in eight apartments. Local residents are being evacuated.
In addition, in the village of Velyke Bunkove in the Bogorodsky District, a drone crashed onto the grounds of a factory. A fire broke out there following the drone’s crash.
Russian authorities, as usual, claimed that air defense systems had been activated; however, it is currently impossible to independently verify the number of drones shot down.
Russian occupiers attacked a civilian vehicle in the village of Bilenke in the Zaporizhzhia district. One man was killed in the strike, and another person was injured.
Russia attacked Ukraine with 163 drones; air defense systems neutralized 135 targets.
On September 3, a man was injured in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region as a result of a Russian attack. It is known that one person was wounded by the enemy strike.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, debris from a downed Russian strike drone caused a fire in the warehouse of a local enterprise. The fire covered an area of 200 square meters, according to Serhiy Tyurin, head of the regional military administration.
Over the past day, 15 private homes were damaged in the Mykolaiv region as a result of attacks by Russian Shahed-type strike UAVs. A social services building and three cars were also damaged, according to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Georgy Reshetilov.
