Azarov shared an AI-generated hoax about language requirements for women giving birth in Lviv
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov shared a fake news story generated by artificial intelligence about the alleged introduction of new language requirements for women in Lviv maternity hospitals. In the fabricated image, women in labor are urged to scream exclusively in Ukrainian during childbirth.
The former prime minister used the fabricated flyer—which features the logo of the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center and an image of a woman in a vyshyvanka—to level yet another criticism of Ukraine’s language policy. Russian and pro-Russian media outlets had already begun widely circulating the story and the fabricated image even before Azarov’s post.
