Russian drones struck a grain terminal in the Odesa region
On the night of June 4, Russian drones attacked the Kernel grain terminal in the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. Part of the infrastructure was damaged, but there were no casualties, and the company assures that it will continue operations and fulfill all its obligations to its partners.
On the night of June 5, Russian drones struck the Kernel grain terminal in the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. The attack damaged part of the infrastructure used for grain storage and transshipment. As a result of the strike, some of the grain spilled out, and terminal operations were disrupted.
Auxiliary storage facilities were also damaged. The company emphasized that the most important thing is that none of the employees were injured. Immediately after the attack, the company began cleanup efforts and an assessment of the damage. “Ukrainian agriculture is resilient not because it has it easy, but because it is backed by people who know how to act even in the face of adversity,” the company noted.
Kernel emphasized that despite the damage, all contractual obligations to partners will be fulfilled. The company explains that over the years of full-scale war, it has learned to quickly reorganize logistics and find alternative solutions even under difficult conditions. “Kernel has assured that all contractual obligations to partners will be fulfilled on time,” the statement reads.

This is not the first time Russia has struck the company’s facilities. Just a few weeks ago, on May 19, Russian drones damaged the Kernel grain elevator complex in the Khmelnytskyi region. Even earlier, on the night of May 3, drones attacked the company’s vegetable oil transshipment terminal in the port of Chornomorsk.
And in August of last year, an oilseed processing plant in western Ukraine was hit. In recent years, Ukraine’s agricultural and port infrastructure has remained one of the main targets of Russian attacks. Grain warehouses, elevators, terminals, and logistics facilities through which Ukrainian products reach global markets are regularly targeted.
Despite this, Ukrainian farmers and exporters continue their work, restoring damaged facilities and seeking new routes for exporting their products. Kernel emphasizes that the current attack will not halt the company’s operations, and all partners will receive their products in accordance with the agreements in place. This was reported by the company’s press service.
