The State Emergency Service stated that the ammonia leak following the Russian attack in Kyiv posed no threat
The ammonia leak that occurred at an industrial facility in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi District following a Russian attack on the night of August 5 was minor and posed no threat to the capital’s residents.
Pavlo Petrov, a spokesperson for the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv, announced this during a televised broadcast. According to him, after receiving the report, chemists from the State Emergency Service and specialists from the Kyiv City Emergency and Rescue Service promptly arrived at the scene.
“Rescuers shut off the valves,” Petrov noted.
He emphasized that the damage was minor and that the ammonia leak was quickly contained.
“There is no threat to the lives or health of Kyiv’s residents,” the State Emergency Service spokesperson emphasized.
Petrov also reported that all fires caused by the Russian attack that night have already been extinguished. According to him, there have been no reports of deteriorating air quality in Kyiv.
On the night of August 5, Russia attacked Ukraine with four “Zircon”/“Onyx” anti-ship missiles, 24 “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 115 attack drones.
