Russian forces have once again struck the Kyiv region, this time targeting the peaceful town of Vyshhorod.
During the night attack, the invaders used Shahed strike drones equipped with cluster munitions, significantly increasing the threat to the civilian population.
Cluster munitions disperse over a wide area and can injure people or damage buildings far from the main blast site. Their use in this manner demonstrates a clear disregard for international humanitarian law.

The attack on Vyshhorod was reported by Serhiy Beskrestnov, head of the Radio Technology Centre, which monitors air threats and drone activity. According to him, the Shahed drones did not merely fly over the city but deliberately dropped cluster munitions on residential neighbourhoods.
Subsequent drone strikes were recorded directly on houses, causing further destruction. Beskrestnov stressed that such strikes cannot be dismissed as accidental or the result of targeting errors.
He noted that he usually avoids making unfounded claims of deliberate attacks on residential areas, since some strikes may result from technical malfunctions or trajectory deviations.
However, in this case — when three drones were pre-programmed to attack a peaceful city with cluster munitions — there is no doubt about the deliberate nature of the strike, he said. He added that such actions bear all the hallmarks of targeted terror against civilians. The expert also warned that the use of cluster munitions in densely populated areas poses a long-term threat due to unexploded submunitions.
Air defence forces also neutralised 104 out of 122 attack drones, although there were strikes carried out with ballistic missiles.
