Fozzy Group is laying off some of its employees following new attacks by Russia

Fozzy Group has announced layoffs among some of its office staff. The changes will take effect on November 1, and the company attributes the decision to the consequences of Russian attacks—between August 1 and September 25 alone, more than 20 of the holding company’s facilities were destroyed or damaged.

 

Fozzy Group will reduce its workforce due to the consequences of Russian attacks. The company announced the organizational changes on September 25 during internal meetings with employees. The new changes will take effect on November 1. The layoffs will affect part of Fozzy Group’s office teams, specifically employees of the holding company itself, the “Silpo” chain, and the logistics division.

The company clarified that similar changes have already taken place at MAUDAU, as well as in the IT teams of TemaBit Fozzy Group and E-commerce & Ecosystem. Fozzy Group explains that this is a necessary decision resulting from the war.

More than 20 facilities damaged or destroyed

According to the company, Russian attacks destroyed or damaged more than 20 Fozzy Group facilities between August 1 and September 25 alone. These include distribution centers, supermarkets, and production facilities. As a result of the strikes, the company has lost part of its infrastructure and inventory. At the same time, maintaining normal operations has become more difficult and expensive.

The holding company says it is therefore forced to reevaluate its priorities and resource allocation. “Under these circumstances, we have to reevaluate where to focus our efforts and resources. We are putting some projects and tasks on hold, abandoning others, and seeking new solutions for the rest,” Fozzy Group stated.

Fozzy Group Continues to Operate

Despite the cutbacks, the company is not halting its operations. Fozzy Group noted that it continues to expand its network and restore facilities damaged by Russian attacks. In particular, the company is opening new stores, repairing damaged facilities, and overhauling its logistics processes. “We are opening new stores, restoring damaged facilities, and restructuring our logistics. We need people for this work, so we continue to hire for supermarkets, warehouses, and production facilities throughout Ukraine,” the company said in a statement.

Thus, the layoffs do not affect the entire Fozzy Group team. At the same time, the company continues to recruit employees for stores, warehouses, and production facilities in various regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the Fozzy Group press service on Facebook.

A 14-year-old boy who was killed during the Russian attack on Kyiv on the morning of September 25 was an Israeli citizen. His mother was also injured in the strike. This was reported by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which condemned the Russian attack.

In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, four people were killed when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck an office building. Seven people were also injured in the attack.

In Kyiv, traffic on Vadym Hetman Street has been blocked due to the enemy strike. 

The number of casualties in Kyiv due to Russian attacks has risen, including one child.

As a reminder, in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district, a residential area was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack on September 24. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities among the residents.

Also, in Obolon, a UAV crashed onto the grounds of a garage cooperative.

Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv on the night of September 24, leaving two dead and eight injured.
