The Kinburn Spit is under the fire control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv region is under full fire control by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and Russian units are forced to operate under conditions of “static defense.”
This was stated in an interview with Krym.Realii by Denis Nosikov, commander of the “Odessa” operational-tactical group of forces.
According to him, Ukrainian strikes forced Russian troops to withdraw from the northern and western parts of the spit deeper into the occupied territory. At the same time, the occupiers are attempting to redeploy reserves there from the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Nosikov reported that a few days ago, Russian troops attempted to transfer eight vehicles to the Kinburn Spit, but all the vehicles were destroyed by Ukrainian forces.
According to the commander’s assessment, there are currently more than 2,500 Russian troops on the Kinburn Spit. He noted that this area is strategically important for Russia, as it opens up a route to the Kherson region and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of August 8, 2026, amount to approximately 1,456,610 soldiers.
On August 7, there were 192 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops on the front lines. The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk direction—25 assaults were recorded there over the past 24 hours, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 56 Russian soldiers.
