The Kremlin has expressed outrage over Britain's plans to transfer missile technology to Ukraine
The Kremlin reacted sharply to reports that the United Kingdom intends to transfer to Ukraine classified technologies related to the production of Storm Shadow/SCALP long-range missiles.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow views such plans “extremely negatively.” According to him, London is allegedly hindering the progress of the “peace process” and “adding fuel to the fire.”
Peskov also stated that the Russian military is attempting to identify possible production sites in Ukraine for long-range missiles and other weapons.
He added that the Russian military is receiving relevant intelligence and taking measures to strike such targets.
The fuel crisis in Russia has worsened following a new series of Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries. In the first half of August, at least nine facilities in the industry—with a combined capacity of 145 million metric tons per year—were attacked, and at least four were destroyed. Refining volumes are now one-third below the seasonal norm, according to Rystad estimates.
Prior to this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out new long-range strikes on militarily significant targets on Russian territory and in the Black Sea. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian military struck targets more than 1,300 kilometers from the front lines, hitting oil infrastructure and the Russian navy.
