The Kremlin is demanding that Ukraine take urgent action regarding Donbas
The Kremlin is demanding that Kyiv make a decision as soon as possible to withdraw Ukrainian troops from the Donbas region.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian dictator, Dmitry Peskov.
“Zelenskyy (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, – ed.) must make a decision today to withdraw Ukrainian troops beyond the administrative borders of Donbas. This has already been mentioned repeatedly. And, in fact, Zelenskyy should have made this decision yesterday. To take responsibility and make this difficult decision,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
This was Peskov’s response to the Ukrainian president’s remarks regarding Moscow’s new ultimatum on troop withdrawal.
According to him, the Russian side warned that in the event of a refusal, it intends to seize the territories by military means.
On March 31, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia is issuing an ultimatum to Ukraine: Kyiv is given two months to withdraw from Donbas, otherwise there will be “other conditions for peace.” Zelenskyy says this is only part of the Kremlin’s plans and that leaving Donbas does not mean the end of the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during the Bucha Summit.
The president emphasized that he is surprised that such statements can be taken seriously after all these years of full-scale war.
Zelenskyy also noted that, according to Russia, the war is supposed to end once this condition is met.
