Russian attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region: at least six dead

Russia, the aggressor state, launched a missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region overnight. According to local authorities, at least six people were killed and dozens more were injured, The Guardian World reports.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the missiles struck residential areas and warehouses in the capital. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported five deaths and 23 injuries in the city. The attack damaged residential buildings, a medical facility, and an educational institution.

In the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, one man was killed and another person was injured, according to regional governor Timur Tkachenko. He said an industrial facility was damaged, and emergency services were on the scene extinguishing the fire.

Prior to the strike, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of Russian “Kalibr” cruise missiles flying over the village of Kagarlyk and heading toward the capital.

The day before, a Russian drone struck a minibus in Kherson, killing four people, Ukrainian prosecutors reported. On the same day in Zhytomyr, a “Banderole” missile drone struck police headquarters: two law enforcement officers were killed and at least 20 people were wounded, police said.
