Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has exposed the true nature of Russia's statements on diplomacy

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has exposed the true nature of Russia's statements on diplomacy

On August 28, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out a contradiction between Russia’s statements on diplomacy and Moscow’s actions. The ministry emphasized that Russia continues to produce missiles, build up its military capabilities, and attack Ukrainian cities.

“While Moscow talks about diplomacy, it continues to invest in missiles and expand its capacity to wage war,” the ministry’s statement said.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that Russia’s readiness to end the war should be assessed not by the Kremlin’s public statements, but by the Russian side’s concrete actions.

As an example, diplomats cited the situation in Kyiv on August 27. Over the course of a single day, air raid alerts were sounded 13 times in the capital due to the threat of Russian attacks. The total duration of the air raid alerts was 872 minutes—nearly 15 hours.

Russian forces launched drones in small groups, which meant the threat to the capital persisted and was repeatedly renewed throughout the day. The prolonged air raid alerts disrupted public transportation and the operations of state and municipal services, and Kyiv residents were forced to constantly interrupt their daily activities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that for settlements located near the front line, air raid alerts lasting many hours have long since become a familiar reality. The ministry believes that the situation in Kyiv has once again demonstrated the discrepancy between Moscow’s rhetoric about diplomacy and the continuation of Russian attacks on Ukraine.

Earlier, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on a facility in Kryvyi Rih.

As a reminder, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles.

Prior to that, Russia had attacked warehouses and energy infrastructure in the Odesa region.
