Ukrainian Forces destroy Russian drones at Donetsk airport
On the night of 30 December, Ukrainian forces carried out a massive strike on a drone equipment and launch preparation site at the temporarily occupied Donetsk airport, targeting Russian Shahed, Geran, and Gerbera drones.
This was reported on Facebook by Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, call sign “Madyar.”
The operation was developed by intelligence personnel of the 414th Separate Brigade “Madyar’s Birds” together with the Deep Strike Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The strike on the airport was executed by operators from the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center.
According to Brovdi, Ukrainian forces hit:
- Drone logistics hub for Geran/Shahed drones;
- Pre-flight preparation and maintenance site for Geran, Shahed, and Gerbera drones;
- Central warhead storage for Geran and Shahed UAVs;
- Accumulation warehouse for Gerbera UAVs;
- Personnel and technical staff deployment site, responsible for preparing and servicing Geran, Shahed, and Gerbera drones.
In addition, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian ammunition depot near temporarily occupied Mangush, close to Mariupol.
Russian losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine continue to rise sharply. Updated data indicate massive depletion of Russian forces, both in manpower and across all major types of weapons and equipment.
