In Kharkiv region, Russian strikes prevent evacuation of seriously injured woman and her children

In Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, authorities have still been unable to evacuate a severely injured woman and her children, who were wounded in a Russian airstrike. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

According to Syniehubov, the family had been on the move for almost a year, relocating multiple times between settlements. Evacuation is currently complicated by physical and logistical obstacles, including crossings over the Oskil River, thawing conditions, and ongoing attacks with FPV drones.

He added that the 13-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries, the 7-year-old is in satisfactory condition, and the mother is in critical condition. Efforts are underway to determine how to safely transport the wounded to a medical facility.

The village of Novoosynove, on the right bank of the Oskil River, where the family was being located for evacuation, was previously subject to mandatory evacuation for families with children. River crossings currently operate only for outbound traffic to prevent people from returning to dangerous areas.

Earlier, mandatory evacuation of children with parents was introduced in 19 settlements of Donetsk region.

Previously, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine announced the start of mandatory evacuation of children with parents from high-risk areas in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The ministry also confirmed that mandatory evacuation of children with parents or legal guardians has been approved from several settlements in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
