An international border crossing was destroyed on the border between Russia and Belarus
The “Krasny Kamen” international road border crossing on the border between Russia and Belarus was hit. International road traffic between the two countries passes through this crossing.
Judging by the footage released, the checkpoint’s infrastructure has suffered significant damage as a result of the fire. The extent of the damage may call into question the checkpoint’s ability to operate fully in the near future.
The “Krasny Kamen” checkpoint is located on Russian territory across from the Belarusian “Selishche” checkpoint in the Gomel Region. It handles road traffic between Belarus and Russia.

News of the attack emerged amid several drone strikes targeting vehicles near this checkpoint. According to the Belarusian publication “Flagshtok,” two Belarusian trucks were struck on September 25 and 26.
One of the trucks—a Renault Premium carrying watermelons—was struck approximately 30 km from the checkpoint. Its cab was completely burned out, and the semi-trailer was damaged. The next day, a drone attacked a DAF XF tractor-trailer right at the entrance to Krasny Kamen. According to “Flagshtok,” the strike was geolocated approximately 1,380 meters from the Belarusian border. The drivers of both trucks were unharmed.
This is not the first attack in the “Krasny Kamen” area. In August, operations at the checkpoint were temporarily suspended due to the threat of drones. Russia’s Rostransnadzor confirmed at the time that traffic through the checkpoint could be halted in the event of a drone attack threat.
As early as September 19, the Belarusian Transport Inspectorate recommended that international carriers avoid using the route through “Krasny Kamen” due to the threat of drone attacks.
Thus, the latest strikes are creating additional problems for road traffic between Belarus and Russia. At the same time, there is currently no official confirmation of the checkpoint’s complete destruction, and its actual condition and ability to continue operating require clarification.
