In the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces will step up their efforts to counter artillery and UAVs
The 7th Rapid Response Brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces, together with the 414th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces “Madyar’s Birds” and the Lasar’s Group UAV unit, held a coordination meeting on countering Russian artillery and drones in the Pokrovsk urban area.
This was reported by the press service of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps on Facebook.
Military command notes that in the Pokrovsk urban area, Russian troops are significantly increasing the number of artillery pieces and expanding the number of UAV launch sites.
“The enemy is using these forces and assets to support its own offensive operations, particularly in the direction of Hryshyne,” the press service reported.
To counter these threats, a decision was made to strengthen cooperation between units. Specifically, this involves joint UAV crews from the 7th Airborne Corps and the 414th “Madyar Birds” Brigade, who will work to improve the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify counter-battery operations, increase the number of UAV combat sorties, focus efforts exclusively on detecting and striking enemy artillery and enemy drone launch sites, and improve the effectiveness of destroying the enemy’s camouflaged firepower.
Russian occupation forces have intensified their assault operations in the Kharkiv region and attempted to breach Ukraine’s state border in several directions. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the advance and inflicting fire damage on the enemy.
No movement of personnel or military equipment has been recorded near Ukraine’s state border on Belarusian territory at this time, but a potential threat remains.
Throughout May 18, 236 combat engagements with Russian occupation forces were recorded along the entire front line.
