A woman was killed and eight others were injured in the Sumy region as a result of Russian attacks
As a result of Russian attacks on the Sumy region over the past 24 hours, one person was killed and eight other civilians were wounded. Damage was also reported to residential buildings, non-residential premises, and civilian infrastructure.
On August 2, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that a 47-year-old woman, who was injured on July 30 during a Russian strike on the Romny community, died in the hospital.
Over the past day, residents of several communities in the region were injured as a result of Russian attacks. In the Sumy community, a 31-year-old woman was injured by a drone strike, and in the Hlukhiv community, a 53-year-old man was injured.
In the Yampil community, a 57-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy were injured when a drone struck a house. In the Bereziv community, a 28-year-old man was injured, and in the Konotop community, a 55-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.
In addition, in the Boromlia community, two men, aged 33 and 65, were injured when a car struck a Russian explosive device.
According to the Regional State Administration, from the morning of August 1 to the morning of August 2, Russian troops carried out 90 shelling attacks on 34 settlements in 19 communities across the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
It is also reported that local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and civil society organizations, evacuated 21 people from border communities.
