The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest spot on the front line – General Staff

Since the start of the day on May 14, 53 combat engagements have been recorded along the front line, with the enemy’s main offensive concentrated in eastern Ukraine. The occupiers are actively using artillery and aircraft to shell border areas in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

This is stated in the evening report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, where the invaders attempted to push back Ukrainian troops 21 times. Ukrainian defense forces are holding back intense enemy assaults in the areas of eight settlements in the Pokrovsk region, where fierce fighting is currently underway. The situation also remains difficult in the Kostiantynivka sector, where the enemy carried out 11 assault operations.

In the south of the country, increased activity has been recorded in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors, but all attempts by the occupiers to advance have been stopped. In the Kharkiv region, fighting continues in the areas around the towns of Lyman and Starytsia. Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions and inflict losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment across all sections of the front.

Russian troops are deploying additional units and using wave assault tactics in the Huliaipole sector, but are making no headway. This was reported on Thursday, May 14, by Vladyslav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

On the 1,541st day of the large-scale invasion, the situation on the front remains tense but under control: 241 combat engagements were recorded over the past 24 hours.
