The occupiers are attempting to advance toward Kupiansk from two directions
Russian troops continue their attempts to advance toward Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. According to the Defense Forces, the enemy is attempting to approach the city simultaneously from the right and left banks of the Oskil River. The situation on this section of the front remains tense.
This was reported on television by Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation.
One of the directions of Russian troop movement is the right bank of the Oskil River, where the situation has deteriorated somewhat for the Defense Forces.
“The Russians are actively trying to advance into the city of Kupiansk on the right bank of the Oskil River from the north. They have managed to advance a little closer to the village of Holubivka. They are using, in particular, various infrastructure facilities, such as pipes (gas pipes – ed.), in their attempts to penetrate the northern districts of the city. As of now, we are managing to destroy them, but the situation, specifically when they reached Holubivka, has become more complicated than, for example, it was a few months ago,” Tregubov noted.
Another direction of the Russians’ advance is the left bank of the Oskil River, where a large Defense Forces bridgehead is located in their path.
“On the left bank of the Oskil River, we have a fairly large bridgehead that the Russians are trying to push back across the river by attacking in the direction of Kupianske-Vuzlovoye; in particular, the most active attempts to break through are coming through the village of Kivsharivka. The situation there is also complicated; the Russians are positioned on several sides and are attacking,” Tregubov said.
The occupiers struck Chuhuiv and a village in the Kharkiv region: four people were wounded.
The past 24 hours in the Kharkiv region were marked by intense Russian shelling, which killed a 61-year-old woman and wounded seven others, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child; strikes hit both Kharkiv and a number of settlements in the region.
Following a nighttime attack on Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of two victims from the rubble of a destroyed building; however, according to preliminary data, people may still be trapped under the debris, and search operations continue. The number of casualties has risen to 21; medical personnel continue to provide assistance, and all emergency services are on the scene.
