During the attack on Ukraine, five Russian drones flew into Moldova
On the night of August 27, during yet another massive Russian airstrike on Ukraine, five Russian drones violated Moldova’s airspace.
According to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense, the first drone was detected at 3:56 a.m.
It crossed the state border from Ukraine near the village of Bilyayivka and headed toward Palanka. The drone subsequently left Moldovan territory and returned toward Ukraine.
The second drone entered from the direction of the Ukrainian village of Starokozache. At 3:59 a.m., it flew over the village of Kaplany, and at 4:10 a.m., it disappeared from monitoring systems near the village of Karagasan.
The third drone crossed the border with Ukraine at 04:09 and followed the route Palanka—Krokmaz—Olanesti—Purkari—Rascaci. At 4:24 a.m., the drone disappeared from radar near the city of Pervomaisk in the Transnistrian region of Moldova.
Another drone crossed the Moldovan border at 04:16 heading toward Palanka, after which it turned around and returned to Ukraine in the direction of the village of Mayaki.
A fifth drone was detected at 5:50 a.m. near the Saitsi–Lisove border crossing, on the border between Moldova’s Cahul District and Ukraine. At 06:02, it left Moldovan airspace, heading toward the Ukrainian settlement of Lisove.
The Moldovan Ministry of Defense noted that the country’s international partners assisted in tracking the drones’ movements.
The ministry emphasized that all instances of airspace violations were recorded during Russia’s airstrikes on Ukraine.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 26, a drone once again violated Moldova’s airspace. The incident occurred amid another round of Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory. Moldovan authorities detected the drone flying over their territory and are investigating the circumstances of the airspace violation.
An unidentified drone entered Moldovan and Romanian airspace.
Earlier, Romania scrambled fighter jets due to the threat of drones near the border with Ukraine.
As a reminder, on Sunday, August 2, air raid sirens were sounded for the civilian population in eastern Romania for the second time that day. The country’s Ministry of Defense radar surveillance system detected an aerial target near the river border with Ukraine at 3:09 p.m.
In Poland, during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the night of July 29–30, an air raid alert was issued in part of the Lublin Voivodeship. After the alert ended, a crater about 10 meters in diameter and debris from an unidentified object were discovered in a field near the villages of Tarnava-Kolonia and Tokary.
