Air Force repels another enemy attack — 89 drones and one missile shot down
From the evening of 13 January, Russian forces carried out another large-scale attack against Ukraine, using three Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 113 attack drones of various types.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
Air defence forces destroyed one missile and 89 enemy drones; however, some targets managed to reach their intended objectives.
As a result of the attack, strikes were recorded in 13 populated areas, while debris from intercepted aerial targets fell in three additional locations.
The Air Force stated that the attack was still ongoing as of 8:00 a.m. on 14 January. Several Russian drones remained in Ukrainian airspace, continuing to move in eastern and northern directions.
Defenders emphasised that this time the enemy employed a mixed tactic — combining simultaneous missile launches with a massive wave of drones to complicate the work of air defence systems.
According to military command data, the missiles were launched from Russia’s Rostov and Voronezh regions.
Shahed and Gerbera attack drones, along with UAVs of other models, were launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea — specifically from the Cape Chauda area and the settlement of Hvardiiske.
Approximately 70 of the total number of launched drones were Shahed-type UAVs.
It should be recalled that Russia recently dropped guided aerial bombs (KABs) on a village in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The consequences of a missile strike on a Nova Poshta terminal near Kharkiv have also been shown.
