Russia drops guided aerial bombs on village in Zaporizhzhia region

Russian forces attacked the village of Yurkivka in the Zaporizhzhia region with guided aerial bombs. As a result of the strike, a local resident was injured and residential buildings were destroyed. From early morning, volunteers have been working in the community, helping residents deal with the aftermath of the shelling. This was reported on the Facebook page of the humanitarian mission Proliska.

Yurkivka is located in Zaporizhzhia district, approximately 12 kilometres from the line of contact. The strike on the settlement was carried out by aircraft, causing significant destruction and injuring a civilian resident.
“Morning in the village of Yurkivka of the Tavriiske rural territorial community began to the sound of explosions. The settlement was hit with guided aerial bombs. For local residents, this meant destroyed homes, shattered windows, damaged roofs and fear for their lives,” the statement said.

As a result of the attack, a 56-year-old man was wounded and received medical assistance. According to volunteers, 12 private houses and eight outbuildings were damaged in the village. Three residential houses were completely destroyed and are unfit for living.

Immediately after the shelling, volunteers arrived in the community. From early morning, they helped local residents eliminate the consequences of the strike and protect their homes from the cold and bad weather. Building materials were provided to 21 people to quickly cover damaged roofs and windows. Another 14 residents received essential non-food items.

Yurkivka, like many other settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, regularly comes under fire due to its proximity to the front line. Volunteers emphasise that assistance to local residents remains critically important, as attacks on civilian infrastructure continue.
