Putin says Russia will continue demanding Donbas in talks with the US
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will insist on gaining all of the Donbas territory it cannot capture by military means during negotiations with the United States.
This was reported by Russian media.
During the traditional pre-New Year meeting of the State Council, Putin claimed that Russia is supposedly willing to make concessions, which he discussed with Donald Trump in Anchorage.
“That is, the message is that ‘Donbas is ours.’ It was said that the issue of the Kramatorsk-Kostiantynivka-Sloviansk cluster is not up for discussion. But otherwise, partial territorial exchanges on Russia’s side are not excluded,” the publication writes.
Putin also noted that some of his proposals were rejected by the Americans after consultations with European partners, calling this a “weakness.”
For reference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published 20 points of a peace plan to end the war with Russia, but the Kremlin will most likely reject this initiative.
It is also noted that Russia has presented counter-demands to the peace plan coordinated by the US with Ukraine.
Additionally, four final documents are being discussed in the negotiations regarding Ukraine.
