Over the course of a week, Russia launched more than 1,900 drones, 1,700 aerial bombs, and 25 missiles at Ukraine

This week, Russian forces have used more than 1,900 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs, and 25 missiles against Ukraine, with more than 800 of the drones being jet-powered. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this, emphasizing that Russia must be held accountable for this escalation of terror.

According to the President, last night alone the enemy launched 135 attack drones—more than 50 of which were jet-powered—targeting Kyiv, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions. The invaders’ main targets were residential buildings and critical infrastructure, which led to power outages in communities. Specifically, this morning the Russians struck the North Bridge in Kyiv with a drone, attacked a medical supplies warehouse in Sumy—where one person was killed—and hit a telecommunications facility in Dnipro; in total, six people were wounded as a result of these strikes.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of jointly countering aerial terrorism and noted the visit to Kyiv by German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. During the talks, the parties are working on decisions and important agreements to expand the capacity to protect lives in Ukraine and Europe.
