Russia launched a record number of ballistic missiles at Kyiv since the start of the war: one person was killed and eight others were injured

On the night of July 18–19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.

According to the State Emergency Service, the Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts sustained the most damage.

In the Solomyanskyi district, fires broke out in an office building, a residential building, and a supermarket. Debris fell near a nine-story building, damaging windows; rescuers evacuated one person.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a three-story administrative building, a non-residential structure, and cars were on fire; a residential building was also damaged. It was here that rescuers found a fatality.

In the Dniprovskyi district, fires were reported at a shopping center, a dormitory, a non-residential building, and several vehicles.

In the Desnianskyi district, a strike hit a non-residential building, causing fires at several locations.

In the Svyatoshynsky district, debris damaged a private residential building. Rescue workers extinguished a fire on the roof and rescued four people.

State Emergency Service units, medical personnel, police, and utility services are working at the impact sites. Cleanup efforts following the Russian attack are ongoing.

Over the course of July 17, Russian troops launched strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were injured as a result of the shelling; among the victims were five children.

Throughout the day on July 17, the Chernihiv region came under attack from enemy drones. Fires broke out in several districts simultaneously but have already been extinguished by Ukrainian rescue workers.
