Russians attacked Kherson with drones during the day; there is one fatality and several injured
On the afternoon of August 25, Russian forces attacked Kherson with drones. One man was killed in the strikes, and eight other city residents were injured. During the attack, a high-rise building was damaged and caught fire, and one of the drones also struck the grounds of a hospital.
At around 1:10 p.m., Russian forces attacked residential neighborhoods in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone. This was reported by Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration. According to him, a man was fatally injured as a result of the strike. At the time of this report, his identity had not yet been established.
“At around 1:10 p.m., Russian terrorists attacked residential neighborhoods in the Dniprovskyi district with a drone. As a result of this hostile strike, an unidentified man sustained fatal injuries,” Shanko said. A fire broke out after the strike on a high-rise building. Rescue workers and other emergency services were on the scene, and details regarding the consequences of the attack were being clarified.
Eight people were injured in Kherson
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that eight civilians were injured throughout the day as a result of Russian attacks in various parts of the city. Russian troops dropped explosive devices from drones. Among the injured was a hospital security guard.
According to the prosecutor’s office, an FPV drone struck the grounds of a medical facility. The facility’s security guard was injured in the attack. “During the day in Kherson, a high-rise building was damaged and a fire broke out as a result of a drone attack. A man was killed; his identity is currently being determined,” the prosecutor’s office reported. They also noted that drone attacks took place in various districts of Kherson. Russian forces used drones to drop explosive devices across the city.
Bilozerka was also hit by the attack
Russian attacks that day affected more than just Kherson. Another civilian was injured in Bilozerka, in the Kherson district. According to the prosecutor’s office, a Russian drone dropped an explosive device there, injuring a civilian.
Thus, a total of nine civilians were injured as a result of the attacks reported by the prosecutor’s office—eight in Kherson and one in Bilozerka. One person died in Kherson. Law enforcement officials continue to document the aftermath of the Russian strikes and gather information on the damage and casualties.
