Russian attack on Bucha district: at least 37 killed

At least 37 people were killed as a result of a Russian attack on the Bucha district near Kyiv, CBC World reports, citing officials. According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the local military administration, at least 50 residential buildings were damaged in the strike. A large fire also broke out and spread to houses and a restaurant.

Strike in the village of Myla

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a warehouse was hit in the village of Myla, after which detonations occurred. He did not specify what was stored at the facility, but reported that criminal proceedings had been opened on charges of official negligence.

According to Zelenskyy, ammunition cannot be stored near houses or other residential areas. He also reported that a care facility for elderly people and people with disabilities, as well as residential buildings, were damaged. More than 370 people were evacuated from the strike area, and the evacuation is ongoing.

Statements by the sides and the situation in the regions

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the aggressor state, stated that it had attacked a warehouse in Myla where components and launch boosters for long-range drones were allegedly stored. The Russian agency also reported strikes on the ports of Mykolaiv and Izmail, as well as on a logistics center and warehouse facilities containing parts for Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles in Kyiv region.

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi mentioned the strike on Vyshneve, a suburb of Kyiv, at the beginning of the month. According to the data cited in the report, an ammunition warehouse was hit at that time, 22 people were killed, and detonations and fires damaged neighboring houses.

On the same day, Russian attacks in Kherson region killed two people and injured 27, regional administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported. A child was among those injured; private homes and apartment buildings were damaged. At the same time, local authorities in Russia's Belgorod region reported three people killed and nine injured as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack, with three of them, according to the authorities, in serious condition.
