A Russian drone attacked Konotop: five people were injured, including three children

In Konotop, Sumy Oblast, five people, including three children, were injured in a Russian drone attack. According to the mayor, the youngest child is three years old, and a 13-year-old boy was diagnosed with acoustic trauma and acute stress reaction. Following the strike, the city experienced disruptions in water and electricity supply, and a private home caught fire.

 

Five people were injured in the attack—four of them children and their mother. The injured children were born in 2012, 2017, and 2023.

“All three children are in the hospital with their mother, born in 1988, who was also injured as a result of the enemy strike,” Semenikhin reported.

Doctors diagnosed a 13-year-old child with an acoustic trauma and an acute stress reaction. The strike hit Zagrebellya Street, where a private home caught fire. Rescue workers extinguished the fire. Due to the attack, Konotop was left without centralized water supply, and power was disrupted in part of the city. Utility services have begun emergency repair work, Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported.

On the night of May 30, Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on the Shostka community in Sumy Oblast, damaging residential buildings and infrastructure.
