Xi Jinping could end the war in Ukraine with a single phone call — Senator Graham

Xi Jinping could end the war in Ukraine with a single phone call — Senator Graham

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has a real opportunity to put an end to the large-scale armed conflicts in Ukraine and Iran simply by making a phone call.

This is due to the critical dependence of the aggressor countries’ economies on Chinese energy imports.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, speaking on Fox News, emphasized Beijing’s key role in global geopolitics.

Currently, China is the main consumer of Russian oil and gas, which allows Vladimir Putin’s regime to continue its aggressive war.

In addition to supporting Moscow, Beijing plays a decisive role in the functioning of the Iranian economy.

According to the senator, the People’s Republic of China purchases about 90% of Iranian oil, which is Tehran’s main source of income.

Lindsey Graham is convinced that if Beijing were to stop these purchases, Iran would “go out of business” in a matter of days.

That is precisely why China’s leadership possesses significant leverage capable of ending both conflicts, provided there is the political will to do so.

The American lawmaker paid special attention to the need for decisive action by the new White House administration. He expressed full support for the country’s current leader and warned against passivity in relations with Beijing.

“And my message to President Trump is: we support you. And if China continues to do this without paying the price for destabilizing the world, then we will be making a huge mistake,” Graham emphasized during the interview.

Xi Jinping backed Trump’s stance on Iran’s nuclear program

As a reminder, Trump arrivedin China for the first time in nearly a decade.

Donald Trump is heading to China for talks with Xi Jinping, where the parties plan to discuss trade, energy, and Taiwan, against the backdrop of a tense global situation.

U.S. President Donald Trump is becoming increasingly frustrated with the progress of negotiations with Iran to end the conflict and is considering the possibility of resuming large-scale military operations against Tehran.
