Trump Unveiled a New $100 Bill Featuring His Signature in Time for U.S. Independence Day

To mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, President Donald Trump unveiled a redesigned $100 bill, which features the signature of the country’s sitting president for the first time in history.

Previously, the U.S. $100 bill bore only the signatures of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Treasurer of the United States

Now, Donald Trump’s signature is printed above that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Back in March, Scott Bessent announced his intention to unveil the redesigned bill by July 4.

“The president’s mark on history as the architect of America’s Golden Age economic revival is undeniable. Printing his signature on U.S. currency is not only appropriate but also well-deserved,” said U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach.

In addition, it has been reported that in early 2026, the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing was working on prototypes of a $250 bill, which was planned to feature a portrait and signature of Donald Trump.

At the time, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also expressed support for the idea, noting that he “doesn’t think there’s anything wrong” with Trump’s portrait appearing on U.S. currency.

CNN reports on this.

On July 4, the United States celebrates Independence Day—one of the country’s most important national holidays. It was on this day in 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted, proclaiming the creation of a new nation and its separation from Great Britain. For Americans, this date symbolizes freedom, democracy, and national unity.

Abnormally high temperatures in late June caused a sharp rise in electricity prices on European energy exchanges. Meteorologists predict that a new heat wave in July could keep prices high.

A powerful heat wave has swept across the central and eastern states of the U.S., forcing authorities to cancel or postpone dozens of events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence.
