A singer from Kyiv was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the DPR

Singer Oleksiy Piddubny, known by the stage name Django, was awarded the title of “Honored Artist” by the so-called “DPR.” He was presented with the award during an event marking the “Day of the Reunification of Donbas and Novorossiya with Russia.”

Piddubny has been performing for many years in the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. According to Russian media reports, his first concert in Donbas took place in Luhansk in 2015, and he has given more than 250 concerts there in total.

 After receiving the award, the singer told the audience about his trips to Donbas, his acquaintance with the former leader of the “DPR” militants, Alexander Zakharchenko, and his friends from the front lines.

It is also noted that Piddubny continues to perform in Russian-occupied territories and support Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier, a court in Vinnytsia sentenced the singer in absentia to 12 years in prison.
