The News LIVE TV channel has suspended broadcasting due to Russian strikes on data centers in Kyiv

The Ukrainian TV channel “Novyny LIVE” has temporarily suspended broadcasting due to the impact of Russian strikes on data centers in Kyiv.

Due to numerous attacks by Russian forces on telecommunications providers in the capital, some services are experiencing disruptions, which has also affected the channel’s broadcasts.

“Novyny.LIVE is temporarily off the air due to the aftermath of the Russian attack on the capital’s data centers. Due to numerous strikes by Russian forces on telecommunications providers in Kyiv, some services are experiencing disruptions—this has also affected our broadcast,” the broadcaster said in a statement.

Specialists are already working to restore the network and the TV channel’s signal. No timeline has been provided for the full resumption of broadcasting.

Since mid-September, Russian forces have been striking Ukrainian data centers and telecommunications infrastructure facilities. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that Russia is attempting to find “alternative mechanisms for victory” in light of the situation on the front lines.

A Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of September 23 damaged the infrastructure of three more internet service providers: Domonet, Kievnet, and Faust. Due to damaged equipment and power outages, some subscribers may temporarily lose internet access or experience an unstable connection. Several other companies, including Cityhost, KyivLink, MiroHost, and Etherlink, had previously reported issues following the attack.

A complete internet blackout is not expected in Ukraine, even in the event of new Russian attacks on network infrastructure. According to “Flash,” this should be countered by highly distributed communication channels.

Following the Russian strike on the “Protasov” business center in Kyiv, some subscribers of the internet service provider FAUST were left without internet access. The Cosmonova data center is located on the complex’s grounds; however, the exact causes of the outages, their extent, and the timeline for restoration have not yet been confirmed.
