Two people were killed and 13 were injured in an attack in Kyiv
Two people were killed and 13 others were injured in Kyiv as a result of the Russian attack. The worst damage was reported in the Obolon and Solomyanskyi districts of the capital.
On the evening of October 7, Russian troops attacked Kyiv. Air defense forces were active in the city, and after debris fell, fires broke out and damage occurred in several districts. In the Obolon district, debris fell into the courtyard of a residential building, causing parked cars to catch fire.
Rescue workers who arrived at the scene found a woman’s body near a burning car. It later emerged that one more person had died as a result of the attack. “A woman died as a result of the enemy attack in the Obolon district,” the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

According to the State Emergency Service, four casualties were initially reported at this address. One of them later died in the hospital. Medical personnel performed resuscitation efforts, but were unable to save the person. “Unfortunately, the death toll has risen to two. Resuscitation efforts for one of the victims were unsuccessful—the emergency medical team pronounced him dead,” the rescuers reported.

Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that six injured people had been hospitalized. Among them was a young woman who was found near a burning car in Obolon. At that time, she was in critical condition. Another district affected by the attack was Solomyanskyi. There, a five-story residential building caught fire due to falling debris. The fire broke out on the first three floors.

Debris also fell at another location in the Solomyanskyi district. People were injured there and received medical attention. In total, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, two people were killed and 13 others were injured as a result of the attack on Kyiv. Rescue workers and other emergency services responded to the sites where debris fell and fires broke out. The aftermath of the attack was also reported in other districts of the capital. In the Dniprovskyi district, debris fell near an educational institution. In the Svyatoshynsky district, the roof of an administrative building was damaged.
In the Podilsky district, debris caused a fire and partially destroyed the ceiling of an office and warehouse building. Emergency services continued to address the aftermath of the attack. The Kyiv City Military Administration urged Kyiv residents to remain in shelters during air raid alerts and not to ignore danger signals.
As a reminder, at least two people were killed in Kyiv as a result of the nighttime attack.
