In Kyiv, the Omega Telecom data center has ceased operations following a massive attack

The “Omega Telecom” data center in Kyiv has ceased operations following a massive enemy attack.

Omega Telecom noted that specialists are currently working to restore communication channels and Internet access at backup sites.

“This is a difficult time for us, but we’re not giving up!” the company emphasized.

As a result of the attack, part of Omega Telecom’s infrastructure was affected, causing the main Kyiv data center to cease operations, while services are being restored via backup sites.

The company informed its partners of this on Facebook.

Ukraine is preparing for possible major internet disruptions amid Russian strikes on data centers and telecommunications infrastructure. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi stated that the government is working to maintain access to the internet and digital services.

Russia is attempting to disable Ukraine’s digital infrastructure, particularly data centers, but a complete loss of internet access in Ukraine is currently unlikely. This is the view of Serhiy Denysenko, director of the Cyberlab Computer Forensics Laboratory. According to him, Ukraine has a large number of data centers, internet service providers, and mobile networks, and some of the data and equipment are located outside the country altogether.
