A Russian strike on a railway depot in Konotop, Sumy Oblast, has resulted in fatalities and injuries among Ukrzaliznytsia employees. According to the company’s CEO, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, one female employee was killed in the attack, and four others were injured.

"The strikes were likely rocket-propelled, close to the border—and not everyone had time to take cover despite the warning. We are analyzing this in detail, second by second," Pertsovskyi wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

According to him, maintaining transportation in frontline communities today comes at an extraordinary cost.

He later updated the post with information that the number of people hospitalized as a result of the attack on Konotop had risen to four – "two women and two men are in the hospital; the wounded have significant burns over their bodies; their condition ranges from moderate to severe. All are receiving the necessary medical care."
