A warehouse caught fire in Zaporizhzhia following an attack
On the afternoon of August 27, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with strike drones. As a result of the attack, a 54-year-old woman was injured, and a fire broke out in the warehouse of one of the local businesses.
According to preliminary reports, a 54-year-old woman was injured during the strike on one of Zaporizhzhia’s districts. Medical personnel examined her and provided the necessary care. The Russian strike also caused a fire on the premises of one of the city’s industrial facilities. The fire spread to the warehouse buildings.
The fire covered an area of about 5,000 square meters. Firefighters worked at the scene and eventually extinguished the blaze. Putting out the flames was no easy task. While carrying out their work, emergency responders came under repeated Russian attacks. “Firefighting efforts were complicated by repeated enemy attacks, which forced rescuers to interrupt their work and take cover,” the State Emergency Service reported.
Rescuers also used a robotic firefighting system to fight the fire. It allows them to operate remotely in dangerous areas without exposing people to additional risk. Russian troops regularly attack Zaporizhzhia and the region with drones and other types of weaponry. The strikes damage residential buildings, businesses, and other civilian facilities, and local residents are at risk of repeated attacks. Russian forces attacked a civilian vehicle in Zaporizhzhia with a drone. Two men were injured in the strike and are currently under medical supervision.
