Anti-drone tunnels in Zaporizhzhia will be reinforced following successful tests
In Zaporizhzhia, testing of anti-drone nets has been completed, following which it was decided to reinforce the protective tunnels. The structures are intended to better protect vehicles and civilians from attacks by Russian drones.
Based on the test results, a decision was made to reinforce the protective structures to increase their effectiveness in the event of new air attacks.
We have found a more robust design that can more reliably protect public and private transportation, as well as civilians. We will continue to refine the anti-drone structures and make them more robust. Stronger structures are heavier and, therefore, will be more vulnerable to weather conditions. We believe we’ve found a ‘middle ground’ and will begin refining the designs,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
According to the head of the Regional State Administration, metal nets will be used in the region to cover particularly critical sections of roads—bridge crossings, checkpoints, and several stretches where, as he noted, it is critically important to have reliable protection.
