In the Zaporizhzhia region, mandatory evacuation of children will be extended to two more towns
Next week, the Zaporizhzhia region plans to expand the list of settlements where mandatory evacuation of children has been implemented.
This was announced by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
According to him, evacuation measures are currently underway in 16 settlements across five communities, and in those communities where the decision has already been made, no children remain—the evacuation has been fully completed.
Fedorov noted that next week, two more settlements from two communities will be added to this list. He promised to release details later.
He also emphasized that the priority in the region is the evacuation of the elderly and people with disabilities, though such evacuations are taking place gradually and are mostly voluntary.
The head of the Regional Military Administration stressed that during mandatory evacuations, the principle of family unity applies—children leave with their parents, and no cases of families being separated have been recorded.
Voluntary evacuation from frontline settlements is also continuing in the region with the participation of the National Police, the State Emergency Service, and civil society organizations. According to Fedorov, the situation remains under control at this time, and there has been no sharp increase in the number of evacuees.
In the Kherson region, due to the worsening security situation and the intensification of Russian drone attacks, a decision was made to mandate the evacuation of children along with their parents from certain settlements in the Kherson community.
In addition, authorities in the Dnipropetrovsk region are implementing measures for the mandatory evacuation of the population from the most dangerous areas of the Nikopol district.
