Ukraine announced strikes on an oil refinery and a military base in Russia
Ukrainian drones attacked military, energy, and civilian targets deep inside Russian territory. According to Deutsche Welle, at least eight people were killed as a result of the nighttime attacks.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the aggressor state, claimed that air defense forces allegedly shot down 635 drones during the attack. Deutsche Welle notes that it is impossible to independently verify this number.
In Engels on the Volga River, two people were killed after drones struck residential buildings. Another residential complex was damaged in neighboring Saratov. According to local officials, three people were killed and two others were injured in Udmurtia, located approximately 1,300 kilometers from Ukraine. In Belgorod, three deaths and five injuries were reported.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces attacked an oil refinery in Saratov and a military base in Engels, where Russian long-range bombers are stationed. According to him, this was a response to Russian aggression, and Ukrainian forces are bringing the war back to Russia.
Kyiv also reported fires at both sites and a strike on an oil depot in the Kaluga region. Unverified videos have appeared on social media that appear to show a fire at the Saratov refinery.
Separately, Ukraine attacked a logistics warehouse belonging to the online retailer Wildberries in Samara, located more than 800 kilometers from the front line. Kyiv claims that the company is assisting the Russian military. Local authorities stated that the fire at the facility had been contained, and no casualties were reported.
