Ukrainian Air Defense Forces Shoot Down 55% of Russian Jet-Powered Drones — President

Ukraine’s air defense forces are currently intercepting 55% of Russian jet drones. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“There have been military intelligence reports on Russian weapons production, and this concerns not only the ‘Shahed’ drones but also certain other technological systems. We know from Russian internal documents what they are preparing and exactly what is planned for next year: the volumes and the funding. We are preparing our countermeasures, and there must be a Ukrainian solution for each item,” he said

According to the President, there are already several effective prototypes of interceptors for Russian jet-powered drones.

“There are units that are using them in combat conditions. We have already identified interceptors that could become the mainstay of our defense. Production, components—we are scaling up all of this. We will respond. The same applies to other existing threats,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He noted that next year, Russia plans to spend $12 billion on the production of jet drones and loitering munitions alone.

“Ukraine’s interception rate for jet-powered ‘Shaheds’ is currently 55 percent. In September, there were more than 2,730 jet-powered ‘Shaheds’; more than 1,500 were shot down or neutralized. Of course, unfortunately, a significant portion reaches their intended targets, but we in Ukraine will build up our defenses step by step—we will make them no less effective than our current defenses against conventional ‘Shaheds’: “For conventional ‘Shaheds,’ the interception rate is over 90%,” the President noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy cited this figure in an evening video address.

A non-residential building was damaged in the Podilskyi district. It was also reported that one person was injured. He is receiving the necessary medical care, according to the city administration.

In Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district, a residential neighborhood was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack on September 24. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities among the residents.

In Obolon, a UAV crashed onto the grounds of a garage cooperative.

Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv on the night of September 24; two people were killed and eight were injured.
