Ukrainian Forces repel Russian DRG attack near Pokrovsk (video)
The Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled an attempt by a Russian reconnaissance and sabotage group to advance behind Ukrainian lines north of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. As a result of the fight, three invaders were eliminated and two others were wounded.
This was reported by the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces on Telegram.
“This happened when the enemy’s reconnaissance and sabotage group tried to take advantage of deteriorating weather conditions and attempted to advance unnoticed behind our units,” the message stated.
Enemy movement in a forested area was promptly detected by the artillery reconnaissance of the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps.
Once the targets were confirmed, the Russians were struck with precise fire from 155 mm artillery.
As noted, the coordinated action resulted in the elimination of three Russian invaders, and the infiltration attempt was repelled.
“According to preliminary information, the other two – wounded – retreated into foxholes and were slowly moving towards the so-called ‘Kobzon concert’ — a military slang term meaning they were likely to die,” the Air Assault Forces added.
There were 140 combat engagements on the front line in a single day, with the hottest directions being Pokrovsk and Huliaipole.
Over the course of 8 February, the General Staff reported a total of 312 combat encounters on the front.
Additionally, Ukrainian drones are eliminating the enemy faster than Russia can replenish its army.
