In Russia, drones attacked a fertilizer plant in the Stavropol Territory
The Stavropol Krai, Russia came under attack from unidentified drones on the night of March 19. Reports indicate that one of the world’s largest fertilizer manufacturers—the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant—was targeted.
This is according to local media reports.
The industrial zone of Nevinnomyssk was attacked by drones. The Azot plant belongs to the EuroChem group, one of the world’s largest producers of mineral fertilizers. The plant produces, among other things, acetic acid, which is used in explosives.
Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov declared a nighttime drone threat and confirmed that drone debris had fallen in the area.
“A massive air attack was repelled in Stavropol. There is no damage to critical infrastructure. Unfortunately, a woman was injured in the Kochubei District when UAV debris fell on a private residence. Her life is not in danger; medical personnel are treating her,” the governor wrote.
The Azot plant in Nevinnomyssk has been targeted before. Earlier, on February 25, drones attacked the “PJSC Dorogobuzh” chemical plant in the Smolensk region of Russia, which had already been hit by Ukrainian drones in December 2025.
Drones frequently strike chemical plants and other industrial facilities in Russia, especially those linked to the defense industry. For example, on December 25, drones attacked PJSC “Dorogobuzh”—a chemical company specializing in the production of nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products.
Prior to this, a group of strike UAVs attacked one of Russia’s largest chemical enterprises—the Metafrax Chemical plant, located in the city of Gubakha.
Prior to this, Ukrainian defenders carried out a large-scale operation to neutralize enemy military targets in the occupied territories and in border regions of the Russian Federation.
