Video: Drones attacked occupied Crimea and Luhansk; explosions were heard there
On the night of July 23, drones attacked the temporarily occupied Crimea and Luhansk. Explosions were heard in several towns, followed by reports of fires at certain locations.
According to statements by the occupying authorities, the drone attack in Sevastopol was repelled with the help of air defense systems and mobile fire teams—the Russians claim to have shot down four drones in the Balaklava district. It is currently impossible to independently verify this information.
According to “Crimean Wind,” gunfire and several powerful explosions were heard near the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant. It is likely that the 110/10/0.4 kV substation (TP-1106 “Voskhod”) was damaged. The attack was indirectly confirmed by the so-called “governor” of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
Another powerful explosion was heard directly in Sevastopol, after which—with a delay of 3–4 minutes—the air raid siren was activated.
In Feodosia, according to reports from subscribers of “Crimean Wind,” Russian air defense systems were active; explosions were heard, and drones were targeted with sustained but largely ineffective fire. Despite this, there are reports of a strike—likely hitting a power substation on Korabelny Lane.
Another strike was recorded near Feodosia—roughly between the village of Primorske and the villages of Pivdenne and Batalne. According to “Crimean Wind,” a similar incident had already been recorded in the same area the day before. Among the major facilities nearby is the 110/35/6 kV “Primorska” substation.
In Yalta, residents reported drones flying overhead and a series of explosions. Earlier, the “Darsan” substation in this city had already been attacked—at that time, the explosions were so powerful that the occupiers temporarily blocked traffic on the Crimean Bridge.
In Yevpatoria, according to locals, repelling the drone attack lasted at least an hour and a half.
That same night, occupied Luhansk also came under drone attack. According to local residents, fires broke out in the city after a strike hit a parking lot containing the occupiers’ trucks. Mobile fire teams attempted to shoot down the drones, but, according to eyewitnesses, were unsuccessful.
Losses incurred by Russian retailers from the July 22 drone attacks on Wildberries warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk could amount to approximately 100–120 billion rubles (1.27–1.53 billion U.S. dollars), assuming the warehouses were fully stocked and most of the goods were destroyed.
On the night of July 18, Ukrainian UAVs attacked the Russian Wildberries logistics center in Elektrostal, near Moscow, and in the Tombovsk region.
