Video: Explosions were heard at a cement plant in the Volgograd Region of the Russian Federation
On September 15, explosions occurred on the premises of JSC “Sebryakovcement” in the Volgograd Region of Russia. One of them occurred near cement kiln No. 5, after which smoke was spotted rising above the plant.
According to Dnipro Official, the coordinates of the incident—50.094131, 43.237939—correspond to the plant’s site in the city of Mikhailovka, where missile and drone alerts had been issued prior to the explosions. The attack is part of a series of recent strikes on industrial facilities in Russia—in particular, this week drones struck a plant in Togliatti and caused a fire in Taganrog.
Exilenova+ also reported smoke following the explosions and possible casualties: according to the channel, related messages appeared in local chat rooms, although the number of victims has not been officially confirmed.
The plant is located in the city of Mikhailovka in the Volgograd region; it is a key employer in the city and is part of Russia’s program for the development of single-industry towns; approximately 1,500 people work at the plant. “Sebryakovcement” describes itself as Russia’s largest cement producer, with an annual production capacity of 4.06 million metric tons of cement and 3 million metric tons of clinker, and its own raw material base — proven reserves total 936.53 million metric tons of chalk and 256.7 million metric tons of clay. The plant has an extensive logistics network: its own fleet of 216 rail hopper cars for transporting cement and 17 truck cement carriers, as well as a direct connection to the Sebryakovo railway station on the Volga Railway.
According to investigators, the explosion occurred near cement kiln No. 5—one of the plant’s key production lines. Following a 2013 renovation, when the line was converted to a dry clinker production process, its capacity increased 2.8-fold to 3,575 metric tons of clinker per day, while gas consumption was reduced by a factor of 1.7. In 2026, the company announced public consultations on the reconstruction of its eighth production line.

On September 10, in Kyiv’s Svyatoshynsky district, a drone crashed in an open area in the woods near a shopping center. According to preliminary reports, there was no fire and no casualties.
In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
