The enemy is attempting to encircle Ukrainian positions on the Pokrovsk direction.
Over the past two weeks, Russian forces have significantly increased activity in the Pokrovsk sector, trying to improve their positions, wear down the defense, and prepare for a city encirclement. This was reported on Army TV by Myroslav Kryvoruchko, Head of Communications of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.
According to him, the enemy has intensified pressure both in the central part and on the flanks of Pokrovsk’s defense. They are simultaneously trying to strengthen their positions and create conditions for eventually closing a ring around the city. The goal is to gradually exhaust Ukrainian Defense Forces units while creating conditions for encirclement. Kryvoruchko explained:“Regarding cutting off logistics and infiltrating between positions, the enemy is generally combining both tactics. On one hand, they try to block supply routes under fire control and carry out infiltration in the rear areas. On the other, they continuously infiltrate in small groups between positions to create pressure deep within the defense.”
Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the “East” operational zone are holding back enemy pressure and repelled 68 Russian assaults over the past day.
In the last 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders stopped 43 enemy attacks in areas including Shakhove, Fedorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Nikanorivka, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and toward Novopavlivka.
