Zelenskyy gave Belarus more time to dismantle Russian relay stations
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned for the second time that Russia’s involvement of Belarus in this war could lead to extremely dangerous consequences. Zelenskyy issued this latest warning to the self-proclaimed leader of Belarus during an evening address.
“We have confirmed that special equipment has been installed along our border on Belarusian territory—equipment that operates on behalf of Russia and the Russians, and that helps the Russians launch drone strikes against us and our territory. We in Ukraine are aware of four such relay stations in Belarus—specifically in the Gomel and Brest regions. It is precisely thanks to this equipment that strikes were carried out against the Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Volyn regions, against our energy infrastructure, against our railways—against ordinary cities and our villages. Belarus has time to dismantle this equipment,” said the Ukrainian leader.
According to him, Ukraine is well aware of every factory in Belarus that is working for Russia and supporting this war.
“We have warned the de facto leadership of Belarus, which influences these events. Overall, from January through May alone, gasoline shipments from Belarus to Russia increased 13-fold compared to the same period last year, while diesel shipments tripled. Unfortunately, this helps Russia adapt to the pressure and does not bring peace any closer. It should be the other way around: peace must be brought closer, and Belarus should do the things its de facto leadership is discussing through unofficial channels so that we in Ukraine can truly see that Belarus is genuinely opposed to this war. This war must end. “We need peace,” Zelenskyy said.
As a reminder, Belarus plans to launch a new full-cycle plant called “Uchastok” by the end of 2026, which will produce 122- and 152-mm artillery and rocket munitions.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is trying to draw Belarus deeper into the war against Ukraine and is considering new scenarios for aggression from its territory.
Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, held a meeting on military equipment and announced the preparation of a new state armament program for 2026–2030.
