Russian KABs struck the outskirts of Sumy; one person was killed and others were wounded
On June 20, the Russian army launched a strike with guided bombs on the outskirts of Sumy, killing one man and injuring three others. The attack once again caused destruction and civilian casualties, underscoring the systematic nature of Russia’s strikes on Ukraine’s border regions.
As of 5:35 p.m., three people were reported injured, said Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration. One of the injured is a 48-year-old woman, the prosecutor’s office told Suspilne.
According to the Military Administration, Russian forces struck the outskirts of the city with seven KAB missiles. Infrastructure, a schoolyard, and residential properties were damaged.
“Information regarding the casualties is being verified,” Grigorov wrote earlier.
At least 20 private homes were damaged.
“All necessary emergency services are on the scene. The aftermath of the attack is being addressed,” Grigorov added.
The explosions were heard in the city around 4:00 p.m.

On the night of June 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes on a number of Russian military facilities. Among the targets was a bridge near Henichesk, which the occupiers use to transport equipment and resupply their troops between occupied Crimea and the southern front.
