Russians are attempting to break through on the Lyman and Kupiansk fronts — General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Since the early hours of Saturday, June 20, Russian troops have carried out 66 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders. At the same time, the occupiers continue to shell border areas. Today, settlements in the Sumy region came under fire, including Korenok, Ryzhivka, Yastrubshchyna, Rohizne, Potapivka, Demyanivka, Tovstodubove, Bunyakine, and Kucherivka. In the Chernihiv region, Hremyach, Senkivka, and Zaliznyi Mist came under fire.
The situation on the front lines by sector:
- In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations but carried out 37 attacks on settlements and our troops’ positions, two of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.
- In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the invaders attempted four times to break through the defenses near Izbytske and Zybine. Two battles are still ongoing at this very moment.
- In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces three times today in the area of Novoplatonivka and toward the settlements of Kivsharivka and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. One engagement is still ongoing.
- In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled ten attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Olgivka, Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Derylove, and Lyman. One engagement is still ongoing.
- In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully halted eight attempts by the invaders to advance near Kaleniky, Zakitne, and toward the settlement of Rai-Oleksandrivka. One clash is ongoing.
- In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy made one attempt to advance near the village of Tykhonivka.
- In the Kostiantynivka sector, our defenders repelled eight attacks near the settlements of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and in the direction of Kostiantynivka.
- In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted sixteen times to dislodge our troops from their positions in the areas around the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Rodynske, as well as toward the settlements of Vilne, Toretske, Dorozhne, Novohryshyne, Hulyve, Myrne, and Serhiivka. Two attacks are ongoing.
- On the Oleksandrivka front, the enemy attempted twice to advance in the area of Piddubne and toward Ternove. One engagement is ongoing.
- In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas around the settlements of Rybne, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Charivne, and toward Hirky and Vozdvyzhivka. Two engagements are ongoing.
- In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy twice stormed the positions of our defenders in the areas around the settlements of Kam’yanske and Stepnogorsk.
- In the Dnipro direction, no enemy attempts to advance were recorded.As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces reported striking a number of Russian infrastructure targets, including gas compressor stations in Crimea, the bridge across the Henichesk Strait, and logistical targets in the occupied territories. Strikes were also recorded in the Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.
On the night of June 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes on a number of Russian military targets. Among the targets was a bridge near Henichesk, which the occupiers use to transport equipment and resupply their troops between occupied Crimea and the southern front.
In Taganrog, Russia, a power substation that supplied electricity to the “Atlant-Aero” defense enterprise was damaged. As a result, production lines involved in the manufacture of drones were disrupted.
