Zelenskyy Identified the Target of the Russian Attack on a Train in the Odesa Region
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian troops struck a passenger train in the Odesa region. According to him, there were 340 passengers on board at the time of the attack, and the train engineer and his assistant were killed.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the train was an entirely civilian target.
“Today in the Odesa region, the Russians once again destroyed a regular passenger train locomotive with a missile-equipped drone. There were 340 people on the train. And whoever was operating the drone certainly could not have been unaware that the target was entirely civilian. As of now, unfortunately, we know that the engineer and his assistant were killed in the strike. My condolences to their families and loved ones. There were also strikes in 11 regions overnight—the Russians deployed over 130 attack drones,” Zelenskyy noted.
He noted that the Russians are striking every day simply to terrorize people’s everyday lives.
“And unfortunately, not every such attack elicits a strong response from the world. We need more air defense assistance and more pressure on Russia if the world is serious about stopping this war in Europe,” the President said.
